- Candle Care Instructions
Thank you for choosing one of our hand-poured soy candles! To ensure you get the best experience and longest life out of your candle, please follow these care instructions:
- First Burn
*Initial Burn**: Allow your candle to burn until the wax melts evenly across the entire surface (approximately 2-4 hours). This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn for future uses.
- General Usage
*Trim the Wick**: Before each burn, trim the wick to 1/4 inch (about 6 mm). This prevents excessive flickering, soot, and ensures a steady flame.
**Avoid Drafts**: Burn your candle in a draft-free area to prevent uneven burning and smoking.
**Burn Time**: For best results, do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool and solidify before relighting.

*Supervise**: Never leave a burning candle unattended.
**Safe Placement**: Always place the candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface away from flammable materials, children, and pets.
**Container Heat**: Be cautious as the container can become hot during use. Allow it to cool before handling.
**Extinguish Properly**: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame instead of blowing it out to avoid hot wax splatter.
- Maintenance
**Clean the Container**: If soot builds up on the container, let it cool, then wipe it with a damp cloth.
**Reuse or Recycle**: Once the candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax with warm, soapy water. Our glass jars are perfect for repurposing or recycling.
- Troubleshooting
**Uneven Burning or Tunneling**: If your candle starts to tunnel, wrap aluminum foil around the edge and let the candle burn for a few hours. This helps the wax melt evenly.
**Weak Flame**: If the flame is too small, the wick might be too short. Allow the candle to burn for a bit longer, and it should correct itself.
